Welcome Lauren!
Lauren Hodgson, our new Children and Youth Program Associate, has been with us for several weeks now, and we are grateful to Leslie Arsenault for providing a welcoming introduction for Lauren to our children and young family programs at Islington United.
Lauren is currently a student at Emmanuel College and a Candidate for Ministry. She grew up in Vancouver where she was very active in the life of her church. She led several youth events and conferences, was a presbytery representative, and ran summer children’s programs.
She completed her undergraduate degree at Queen’s University and earned an Honours BA in political studies with a minor in art history.
Lauren is interested in dramatic arts, event planning, and public speaking. She is also an accredited yoga teacher, traveling to Kerala, India where she received her training in sivananda yoga.
Lauren will be working closely with our Minister to Children and Youth, Michael Shewburg (in fact, you’ll find them in the same office at the end of the youth hall!), with our Discovery Quest Sunday school program as her primary responsibility.
