Talent Opportunity
A regular posting of openings in the various ministries
of the church
sponsored by the Spiritual Gifts Ministry
| |
|
 |
Are you interested in the Sunday
School and Youth programs?
The Christian Development Committee has an
opening for a committee member. The position
requires
the individual to help identify new opportunities
for
spiritual development and provide guidance
for Islington’s programs for children,
youth and adults. You would be required to
meet the
first Wednesday evening of each month and assist
with
the planning for Christian Development programs.
The rewards are many as you would be contributing
to the spiritual growth of the young people
of Islington as well as having input into program
planning for adults.
Interested candidates should contact Ross Vickers
at 416.231.1797 or email him at vickers@shermans.net

Leader for the Mabelle Homework
Club
The Mabelle Homework Club has just completed
its second full year of operation. Every Tuesday
during the school year from 4:00 to 5:00 pm approximately
18 children from Grade 1 to Grade 8 eagerly join
their tutor friends for learning and fun. Tutors
come from the three sponsoring churches: Islington
United, Kingsway Baptist and St. Andrew’s
Presbyterian.
The coordinator has moved away from the city
and the Homework Club urgently needs someone
to take over its leadership. Classroom management
and organizational skills would be an asset,
as well as a heart for outreach in our cross-cultural
community. Joy is guaranteed!
If this outreach opportunity interests you and
for more information, please speak to Mollyanna
Potter at 416.622.8515.

Volunteer Tutors
We are also looking for more volunteer tutors for the fall. If you are free Tuesday
afternoons and want to make a difference in the lives of the children of the
Mabelle Community, please join us. This is also a meaningful way for students
to earn their community service hours. Just give Mollyanna a call. |
