Shopping & Gift Cards
An easy way to support your Church
Take the stress out of shopping and support Islington United at the same time. Cards from popular retailers make great gifts or use them for your own shopping. A portion of the retailers’ profit comes to Islington United at no cost to you.
Order your grocery cards today at Coffee Hour or contact John Wevers at 416.767.3691 or
e-mail
Shopping card orders will be placed with our supplier on the last Sunday of each month and the cards can be picked up on the first Sunday of each month. This schedule should help with your monthly budgeting!
And don’t forget about gas, restaurants, department stores, building suppliers, movies, books, and fifty more stores and services!
All your purchases contribute to the church’s bottom line and cost you nothing extra. What a deal!
Book Club Members!
Buy shopping or gift cards for Chapters/Indigo/Coles to purchase your reading selections for your club while helping Islington United’s fundraising needs at the same time – no extra cost to you. See John Wevers at coffee hour to learn more.
DOUBLE YOUR SUPPORT
Purchase a grocery card (IUC gets a percentage) and use it to buy food for the monthly Mabelle Food Program (see below). OR, make a financial donation, we'll buy the food, and you'll get a Tax Receipt. Discuss with John Wevers.
Shoppers!

Overheard at a nearby grocery checkout…
“Hi, Valerie. How are you? I see you’re loading up on all the great specials this week.”
“Oh, hello, Margaret. Yes, have to keep the family fed!”
“What was that card that you used to pay with – it sure was fast!”
“Yes, I love it. No carrying around lots of cash or scrambling for change. No signing a VISA slip or punching in debit card numbers. The clerk just swipes the card and I’m on my way. It’s a retail shopping card I buy through the church and then Islington United gets a percentage. It costs me nothing extra; I have to shop anyway.”
“Sound’s like a win-win setup. Is it just for groceries?”
“Oh no. There are dozens of retailers – everything from gas to restaurants, drug stores to movie rentals, department stores to specialty shops, and more. Jack uses Rona and Canadian Tire cards and others for jobs around the house – you know we’re redoing the rec room downstairs.”
“Sounds great! I better look into it. And you say that the church gets a percentage at no cost to you?”
“That’s right. Get in touch with John Wevers at coffee hour, or email or phone him. He can tell you all about it.”
“Will do. See you later.”
Cards from popular retailers make great gifts (birthdays, graduations, thank you's, special occasions) and use them for your own everyday shopping. A portion of the retailers' profit comes to Islington United at no cost to you.
