Mark Aitchison
Senior Minister

Mark came to Islington
United in 1993 after serving as a minister in
Paris, Ontario; Plenty, Saskatchewan; Edinburgh,
Scotland; and Australia. After studying business
and working for IBM and Mutual Life of Canada,
he sought a change of career and studied to become
a minister at the University of Guelph and University
of Toronto. He was ordained in 1980.
Our church is also blessed
with the many gifts of Mark's wife Pattie, and
their three sons, Andrew, James, and Stephen.
When Mark gets to take a break, he loves to travel
and explore God's wonderful creation, and he
has a special passion for downhill skiing. |
As senior minister, Mark is involved with all of Islington's
ministries and feels he is privileged to lead a team
so capable and committed to their work. In particular,
he is responsible for supporting:
- Worship Committee
- Church Council Executive
- Trustees
- Elders
- Loaves and Fishes
