The Go Project logoThe GO Project 2010

The GO Project hosted by Islington United Church is an important youth ministry which is held throughout the month of July and August in Toronto, Halifax and Vancouver. For two 11-day sessions, Islington youth (grade 9 to age 19) and youth and their leaders from across Canada live and work together at Islington, at St. Andrew’s United in Halifax and Ryerson United Church in Vancouver – learning about what it means “to love and serve others” as God calls us to do.

What Will GO Project Participants Be Doing?

  • Participating in a community-focused children’s program
  • Reaching out to youth through community programming,
    shelters and street cafés
  • Supporting seniors and newcomers through community
    clean-up and home projects
  • Practising pastoral skills through visiting
  • Serving the basic needs of the community through the
food bank and clothing share programs
  • Participating in environmental awareness and action programs

But no nuts please.

Drivers:   Volunteer to drive youth to and from mission sites

Children’s Program: Help by making lunch for the children that the
GO Project will host on Mondays and Wednesday (July 5, 7, 12, 14, 26, 28, August 2, 4)

Subway Rally:   Accompany the GO Project participants or meet them at pit stops during an amazing race-style Subway Rally on Saturday, July 10 and/or July 31!
