Youth Without ShelterA Letter of Thanks from
Youth Without Shelter

“I was a teenager with a lot of issues. At 18 after spending many nights in YWS I turned my life around. Thank you for all being there, for guiding me and for letting me know that I was able to accomplish more that I believed I could.”
Nichole, now a social worker

Dear Mr. Shewburg,
On behalf of the young residents of Youth Without Shelter, our heartfelt gratitude to Islington United Church for your generous donation of holiday gift bags. For these young people, this season of celebration clearly reminds them that they do not have a home to call their own. Your support is helping make this holiday a memorable one for our residents. More importantly, however, you are sending the message that the community does care about them.

Each year YWS offers a safe haven and a fresh start to more than 1,000 youth who do not have a home and a family inviting them to return. However, each one is determined to beat the odds and build a bright future. To do that, each young person needs a safe place to stay, healthy food, warm clothing, counselling and someone to guide them in finding a home, a job or completing school. Together we will end homelessness one youth at a time, one step at a time. All the best in the coming year.

Sincerely,
Ali Clemmensen
Development Assistant
