| The Order of Islington
Call for Nominations
“The Order of Islington” is the church’s most prestigious official honour. Created in 2006 by the Elders of I.U.C., it recognizes many years of achievement and merit of the highest degree during which these men and women, as outstanding role models, have enriched the lives of their contemporaries as they served Christ. The men and women invested in “The Order of Islington” are representative of the best of our congregation’s caring souls.
Members and Adherents of Islington are cordially invited to submit confidential nominations for this year’s Order of Islington before
May 29, 2011.
Just follow these simple steps:
- Complete confidential Nomination Forms 100 and 101, which are available in the Recognition Sub-committee folder in the church office, and online. (see below)
Please have everyone sign Form 100 in blue ink so that the original is distinguishable from the photocopies.
- Ask three other people, who know the nominee very well through differing aspects of their volunteer work, to complete Form 101.
- The Prime Nominator should collect all four forms and submit them, in a sealed envelope, to the Recognition Committee’s Folder in the Church office. Address the envelope to Rosemary Drinnan.
- If you need advice on the process, speak to Don or Dorothy Killin.
Criteria for a Nomination
- The nominee is a member or adherent of Islington United Church who has exemplified Christ’s teachings through many years of work in the church, the local community, or the global community,
- The nominee is an excellent role model for others.
- In order to avoid any conflict of interest, members of the staff and their spouses, and the members of the sub-committee and their spouses are excluded from being nominated until such time as they no longer occupy such a position.
