Michael Shewburg 
Minister to Youth

Michael came to Islington United in 2005 after serving as Director of Camping and Youth Ministry in Chatham-Kent, Ontario. He also served the United Church on the Training in Mission Program in Capetown, South Africa and Tamil Nadu, India. Michael has diplomas in Social Work and Educational Assistance from Sheridan College and has worked towards a double major at the University of Toronto.

When Michael is not working, he loves to travel and wonder at God’s creative imagination, and his most recent passion is competitive sailing.
As Minister to Youth, Michael is involved with ministries that help youth and young adults to develop their sense of Christian community through engaging programs, leadership development and spiritual practice. He is privileged to be a part of such a capable and committed team.

• God and Guinness - Young Adult Program
• Intergenerational Worship and Education
• Youth Retreat – Camp Tawingo
