Children's Sunday Ministry

Here at Islington, we strive to create a space for everyone. There is a nursery and a toddler room available for our youngest church goers. Located in the basement (and easily found if you ask the ushers), these rooms are spaces for young ones up to age 4. Each week there are volunteers and a paid staff who provide supervision in the nursery and toddler room. Our toddler room is filled with fun toys and activities as well as a paging system should your child need you during the service. The nursery space is a separate quiet room for resting, changing and nursing. Change stations can also be found in the upper unisex washroom and the lower women’s washroom near the toddler room.

The Nursery and Toddler Room (for babies and children up to the age of three) open 15 minutes prior to each service. The Ushers and Greeters can direct you. We are equipped with a paging system, which allows our caregivers to reach parents during the service, if necessary. Please pick up a pager when dropping off your little ones.

The north transept located in the Sanctuary is available throughout the service as a family space so that children and parents can stay in the service together – there are craft supplies, storybooks, a rocking chair and a comfortable seating area available. Please know that all ages are welcome in worship and every voice is valued. If you have any questions about this space, please contact Mehgan Witzel.

Discovery Quest

Discovery Quest is Islington’s Sunday morning children’s Sunday School program. Open for children ages 5 to age 11, Discovery Quest is an opportunity to learn about our faith together. We start with our opening practices, such as lighting our candle and learning about our focus story and taking up the offering before breaking into smaller groups for activities and small group learning. We run in three week units, and finish each unit by participating in worship with the wider church family on special Sundays. Discovery Quest is welcoming space for all to come, learn, grow and make friends!

Youth Programs

Seekers Youth

Grades 7-12 meets weekly, Sunday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. I mixture of learning activities, events, games and artistic expression make up this program. For more information please speak with Meghan.

Junior Youth - RISE

This is a program for Junior Youth, grade 4-6, to gather monthly for time together to discuss faith, life and to have fun! This program is designed to be for you! We will meet at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 for lunch and 1:30 to 3:00 for program. We meet almost always on the first and third Sunday’s of the month!

Living with Christ (Sunday School for teens)

For youth who are grades 7 and up, we offer Living with Christ in the second service. This popular youth program offers a space to explore faith and its connection to everyday life in really creative ways. Lead by two dynamic leaders, Living with Christ is an open space for all, to question, learn and build community.

God and Guinness
This is a program for Young Adults, aged 18-30, to gather monthly for intentional time together to discuss faith, life and all matters of importance. We will meet at the church from 8:00-9:00pm, followed by a more casual time for food and fellowship at the Shamrock Pub.
